Our Christmas Party was held on Monday 18 December with 64 Members joining in the fun. We were entertained by Holly who sung to us for over an hour. There was a bumper raffle making over £200 and a superb buffet for all to tuck into. Suffice to say all went home very happy after a very enjoyable afternoon. Here are a few images from the event:
Several Members of the Medway Branch attended the annual Service of Remembrance at Rochester Cathedral on Sunday November 12. Tim Meadley placed a wreath at teh war memorial on behalf on the Branch. Follwing the Service, there was a lunch at the White Hart at Cuxton. Here a few pictures:
On November 15, a number of Branch members attended a lunch at the Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone, where they were entertained by a female singer and a guy wearing a somewhat dodgy Beatles wig playing the piano. They entertained the audience with a number of Beatles songs and a quiz that was surprisingly difficult. Here are a few pictures from the event:
On Wednesday Septemebr 6, a number of Branch Members travelled by Coach to Hythe were they boarded reserved coaches on the Romney, Hythe an Dymchurch Light Railway and travelled to Dungerness. There they enjoyed a fish and trip lunch at the Pilot Inn before either boarding the train for the return trip to Hythe or returning by coach for the journey back to Medway. A most enjoyable day out.
On September 18 the Branch was visited by King Henry VIII (Tony Harris). Who would dare say anything more?
The July hall meeting was very entertaining as our own Member, Tim Meadley, together with one of his colleagues from the Medway Magical Society, Mark Wood,, entertained us with some magic and mentalism. It proved to be a very enjoyable and fascinating afternoon. Below are a selection of images showing these two brilliant Magicians in action with our Members:
Later in the month we gathered in Maidstone to join a boat trip on the Kentish Lady which started the journey with a lunch of Fish & Chips. The weather could not have been better with the Sun shining and the temperature nicely warm. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip along the Medway which was accompanied by an interesting commentary given by the boat’s skipper. The trip lasted approximately three hours and we all enjoyed a choc ice once we had disembarked the boat! Below are a few images of a very enjoyable afternoon:
The Branch held its annual Duck Race on Monday 20 February and there was a good turnout of Members to enjoy the action and an excellent buffet at our regular venue, Beechen Hall, Walderslade. The ducks all performed well, although number 4 seemed to encounter more than its share of difficulties. The tote, with Doug, Lorna and Sue acting as cashiers did a brisk business.

New Year Lunch
The Branch held it's annual New Year Lunch at Headcorn Golf Club on Wednesday 18 January. To facilitate attendance, there was a coach organised to take attendees from the Medway area to the Club. The meal was excellent and everyone took advantage of the opportunity to chat with friends, both old and new.
