The Branch held its Annual General Meeting on 10 March. Reports from the President, the Chairman, and the Treasurer (the Branch is in a good position financially thanks in part to the money recieved from County) were presented, along with a report of trips in 2024 and upcoming excursions. These was followed by the re-election of Branch Officers and the election of a new Committee member, Jan Dennett, who is attending meetings as a notetaker. To round out the afternoon there was Bingo (a few winners and lots of losers!) and a buffet.
This was the first opportunity for try out the Branch's new PA system, which seemed to work well.

The Branch held its annual Duck Race on 10 February. The ducks were in fine form at the start of the afternoon; however, a couple of them fell foul of the farmer's shotgun and did not survive. The fox was as wily as ever, chasing several ducks back to the start, in some cases more than once! Betting was, as usual, brisk - there were some winners and some loosers. The races were interrupted by a buffet, which included a variety of sandwiches and val-au-vents with different fillings. Teas and coffees were served.

A New Year and a new venue. The Branch met for the first time at Bluebell Hill Village Hall on 10 January. Following some difficulties at the previous venue, Beechen Hall in Walderslade, the Committee decided that a new gathering place should be found. Hence the move to this slightly smaller, but equally well appointed, location. There was a good turn out for this first meeting, which was simply a social get-together for Members to catch up after the Christmas/New Year break. The general consensus was that this new meeting place will suit the Branch well.
The Branch held its Annual New Year Lunch at the Sittingbourne and Milton Regis Golf Club on 15 January. There was a good turnout and an excellent meal was served. The raffle offered a number of good prizes, and it was noted that our most regular winner was, on this occassion, not one of the recipients! Members were updated on upcoming meetings and trips, and were remined that the annual subscription is now due.
